Gourmet suite at the Arms Hotel, Sunday

This was the most crowded Hannibal could recall being in quite some time. There were several children in the master bedroom, one of whom was apparently his, her other father in another bed in his room (yes, thank you, Angela, but they were not a couple here, and you could stop looking at them like that), and Jono's friends on the pull-out couch in the living room.

On the bright side, it was a built-in audience for breakfast. So Hannibal was brewing some excellent coffee while he worked as quietly as possible at cinnamon polenta pancakes, sweet potato & pork belly hash, rosemary grapefruit, thick-cut bacon, and toast from some very good, dense bread he had.

And mimosas for the adults. He had a feeling they still might need a drink.

"If Mr. Leonhart has any children, they haven't yet made it," Hannibal answered as he put the finishing touches on another plate of pancakes. "Otherwise, I think everybody is spoken for." He picked up the platter. "And yours have been no trouble. I had been expecting JJ."

And neither of hers was as loud as Kayla.

"Ah. He mentioned meeting a sister that was yours and Jono's?" Momoko reached to take the platter from him. She could at least eat help that much? "He said she was nice. Is she here?"

"She is." Hannibal handed her the platter and picked up two more. "There," he gestured with one of them, "next to Jono. Her name is Angela."

Momoko looked over and smiled brightly. "Aww! She's so pretty! Congratulations!"

"How are you handling it? This is your first time with future kids, right?" She gave him a sympathetic smile. "Welcome to one of the nicer if still crazy Fandom weirdnesses."

"I'll take this over sharks falling from the sky," Hannibal said, shaking his head. "It has been...interesting. Pleasant, and somewhat disconcerting. I'm told this happens annually?"

Momoko stared a moment. "Sharks falling from the sky?" That was new!

"Uhm." That took a bit of blinking to process. "Wow. That must have been dangerous! And smelly!"

... "Though now I want some shark fin soup." Momoko was simple complicated, okay?

"The kids usually show up once a year, yes. I think once it happened twice. Or at least close together? I gave up trying to figure out the island's schedule."

Hannibal laughed. "In the fall. And I made some the next day; you missed it, I'm afraid."

"I missed that?!" To be clear, she meant both the fighting and the food.

"Not fair! I've only had it twice ever." And here she meant the soup.

"It was good to have the opportunity," Hannibal said. And he definitely meant the food. "If it should happen again, I promise to call you for the meal."

"Oh wow! You'd totally better or I will make the biggest saddest eyes at you forEVER!" She sighed dreamily. "I am totally putting your number in my contacts lists and calling you after weird radio podcasts from now on."

"Remind me to give it to you before you go," Hannibal answered. "It's always nice to have an appreciative audience."
