Hannibal had set up for his usual tutoring of Lucille today - there were tea and scones in the music room, and he was drinking coffee - but he also had his tablet on his lap and was trying to coordinate - again - the wedding. At least this time the Boards might be ready?

There was no way they were having it in Jono's world again. Or his own, come to that.

"I am quite well." She smiled at Dr Lecter. "And yourself? But that's an unfair question. I can't imagine the week has been easy for you and Mr Starsmore."

"There is no need for an apology," Lucille said quickly. "I felt very sorry for the two of you. Have you made new plans?"

"Then I hope it will," Lucille said. "Has the theater ever been used for plays?"

She suspected they both might enjoy a more cheerful subject.

Lucille took a seat. She would soon reach for a scone; no doubt they were as delicious as usual. "Is there no manager?"

"Mr Starsmore owns it? I hope there will be a new manager. I have never been to see a play." It must be much better than movies.

"I found these in the library," Lucille said, showing them to Hannibal. "Collections of very moldable piano music from the 20th century. Perhaps they will sounds strange on the harpsichord, but I thought it might be interesting to try. Do you know any of the pieces?"

Lucille looked at the page, trying to get an idea of the music. Some of the chords looked unfamiliar to her in that way much of recent music did. She had grown more accustomed to the sound and it no longer felt as jarring, or rather, jarring had a purpose to play.

"Then I would like to try it," she said.

She really should visit Mr Starsmore's shop and look at the portable pianos, so that she could be more prepared. It just felt awkward the way she had almost rejected his offer out of pride.

Lucille smiled and took a sip from her cup. She enjoyed listening to Dr Lecter play, and was curious how this would sound. It was strange how her love for music had changed since she had been able to share it. Now, she was being pulled away from solitude by one of the things that had taught her to enjoy being alone.
