Hannibal's house, Sunday afternoon

Hannibal had gone looking for things to wear that would be comfortable for flying, but was somewhat stymied by the fact that he'd always been a woman in warm weather. He eventually settled on wool pants and a shirt, and his motorcycle jacket. It fit, anyway, and ought to keep him warm. He'd dug out a scarf, too, in case Jono might think it necessary, but gloves...well, he would simply have to have cold hands.

The cats had been fed and were currently sleeping in one of the bay windows, with Beethoven pretending to ignore Joni had her chin on him. Dinner for this evening was prepared or ready for preparing. "Ready whenever you are," he called out, thinking it as well in case Jono wasn't within hearing range.

Hannibal was certain he would.

//I'll hold you to that,// Jono decided, grinning shamelessly and then going into another loop. //God, this is wonderful. It'll be hard going back to walking from place to place after this.//

Or, you know, the being on fire. Which would be harder, admittedly.

Only temporarily, Hannibal reminded him. He took a moment to enjoy the flight, then asked, Have you ever considered hang gliding in the interrim?

[furnaceface]

//Hang gliding? You know... I haven't? But then, I suppose there are a few places to take a jump from even on the island...//

So help him, Hannibal, you had Jono contemplating this.

Well. It probably wouldn't kill him, anyway.

A few, Hannibal agreed. And the gliders these days are quite advanced.

//I'd probably risk it even if they weren't,// Jono decided. //I'm exactly that sort of idiot. And besides, we're flying now by virtue of sound. Actual wings are bloody near a step up.//

No, not really. But it didn't hurt to tell himself that, if he was going to have to put this collar away again tomorrow.

Not as magical, perhaps, but a brief adventure. Hannibal leaned in for another kiss.

[furnaceface]

//Hopefully enough of one to keep me amused for a while here and there,// Jono agreed, leaning in to take that kiss. Because kissing. //If not, I might have to look into that one flying-squirrel looking sport. With the-- what are they? Wingsuits?//

You can't do acrobatics with them, can you? Hannibal asked. Not for long, at any rate.

[furnaceface]

//Not for so long, I don't think,// Jono agreed, //but I'd like to think at least it would make up for that by being mostly free fall.//

And then he demonstrated by once again going into free fall.

Because it was wonderful once you got over the feeling of your insides lurching into your throat, really. Especially if you knew you weren't going to hit the ground.

Or if you accepted it as a valid (if improbable) danger. I thought you enjoyed flying, not falling, Hannibal teased. Anybody can fall. At least once.

//I enjoy both,// Jono shared. //The best part about falling is the part at the end, though, where I don't end up a bloody smear on the ground below.//

Really, that should be his favourite part, shouldn't it? He was laughing again as they plummeted, and then, of course, missed.

Missing the ground. Best part.

Hannibal was silent through the pull-up, enjoying the sensation. It does improve the rest of it, he acknowledged after.

//Remarkably so,// Jono agreed, and then gave a little exhale, happy to let himself coast along for a while longer. //I'm going to miss this tomorrow. I'm going to miss a lot of this tomorrow.//

He would try not to mope about it too much, but this wasn't going to be easy to let go of, even if he did know something could be done about it with enough hard work and patience.

Commit it to memory, Hannibal advised. Remember every last sensation and experience. Relive it in your memory palace, and use it as a guide to help in rebuilding yourself. He smirked. Although perhaps without the breasts.

[furnaceface]

Jono made a little snorting sound at that.

//You have to admit, the breasts are bloody difficult to ignore, though.//

They were very nice breasts. Though maybe not something he wanted to keep around forever, no.

They are quite lovely, yes. And currently very close to Hannibal's hands, so he was going to briefly caress one. Since it was there.

[furnaceface]

"Mmmm..." All forward progress in their flying needed to stop for a moment, lest Jono get distracted and smack them directly into a tree. "You know," he murmured as they hovered there, "I'm not certain if breasts are just more sensitive, if I'm that not used to being touched that way, or both, but that was very distracting."

[sharp_as_knives]

"Very likely both." Hannibal smirked. "Should I stop?"

[furnaceface]

"Don't you dare." And then Jono was leaning in for another one of those kisses. Because he only had a limited amount of time left to take as many of those as he possibly could, now. He wanted to stock up to last until the next time around.

[sharp_as_knives]

Hannibal grinned as he kissed back, and kept going. "Should we land before we go much further?" he asked. "How good is your concentration?"

[furnaceface]

"Good, but not nearly that good," Jono laughed, turning them around to head back toward Hannibal's place. In a sort of distracted kind of way. For some reason. "And this thing doesn't come with autopilot."

[sharp_as_knives]

"Pity." Hannibal left his hand where it was but didn't try for any more distraction. "I imagine that would be quite the experience."

[furnaceface]

"Almost certainly," Jono agreed. "Hell, I'd be willing to see if we can make it work from a somewhat less dangerous height, regardless. It'd be a challenge, but..."

A beat.

"I'm not taking the collar off."

Just for the record. There were so many more interesting things that could be done with it besides flying and screaming really loudly.

Hannibal raised an eyebrow at him. "What did you have in mind?"
