Hannibal's house (with Jono and a plus one), Monday morning

Hannibal had sent out another message to all and sundry: Breakfast for the children; breakfast and drinks for the adults.

Then he'd set about making coffee to get his brain in gear and feeding the cats to get them out of the way, before starting on breakfast.

Baked Currant Doughnuts
Waldorf Salad
Super Scotch Woodcock
Irish Potato Cakes with Smoked Salmon
Black Pudding Crumpets
Lots of very good coffee
An assortment of teas
Fruit juices
Mimosas, bloody marys, and an open bar for those that need it


He'd be finishing everything as soon as possible, to spend time with his own impromptu family while it lasted.

Jono took a few moments to re-gain his wits a little, and then glanced back up at Hannibal in approval.

//Can't say I'd complain if that were the case,// he noted. //But then, I'm greedy.//

Not that he couldn't just share with anybody who was eating them, granted.

"Perhaps for lunch," Hannibal answered. "Where's Angela?"

//She's taken it upon herself to give the cats a good grooming. She'll be occupied for a while longer just trying to get Joni to stop wriggling, I think.//

Joni loved being brushed! Which was why she couldn't stay still for it, apparently.

"Oh, dear." Hannibal shook his head. "Fortunately, Beethoven may allow it." He needed more brushing anyway, so he was used to it. So long as he deigned to let the small human near.

//If she behaved herself around the flamingos, she ought to do fairly well with the cats,// Jono mused. //Or at least, that's the hope. She is ours?//

Which meant she was a great kid, right? By default practically?

It did! And very good with animals.

And probably a mutant cannibal when she grew up. Shhh.

"I'm sure she will do splendidly." Hannibal smiled. "I must say, it's been interesting having a younger version of her around."

//I have to admit, I'd always sort of wondered,// Jono admitted. //I mean, we know she grew up right, and I figured she was one of the good ones along the way. Good to know that wasn't wrong.//

He was still resisting the urge to pinch her cheeks, honestly.

"We not only make a lovely child genetically, we also apparently raise her well," Hannibal said. "It's good to know, in an abstract way."

//In an abstract way,// Jono agreed, rubbing absently at one elbow as he nodded. //Doesn't mean I'm rushing out to find out what cloning technologies might just get left sitting around at the Jean Grey School these days, but...//

Hey, who knew? Maybe? Someday? It wasn't as though clones were anything new and novel in his world, after all.
