Invitations had gone out handwavily on the school and town's bulletin boards, both electronic and physical, that a belated post-pollen relaxation and last-day-of-break dinner party was being held at Hannibal's house and everybody was invited.

Of course, that meant Hannibal had had to come home and go immediately into a frenzy of cooking and preparing, but honestly - you relax your way, and he'd relax his.

The food looked delicious. In fact, it was probably the most dinner Lucille had ever seen. It had been rare for her to be allowed to attend a dinner party with her parents, and even if she had, their social circles would not have valued such a thing.

It was hard to decide where to start.

"I hope you enjoy the food," Hannibal said to her. "I find that things such as this do better for encouraging people to relax than a full, sit-down dinner, although I occasionally have those as well."

"I believe you are right." Although Lucille was rarely relaxed with people at all, Dr Lecter strangely enough being more of än exception than most. "I'm just trying to decide where to start."

Unless she wanted dessert first; there was nothing wrong with that.
