Date night, Home to ... somewhere, Saturday night

The fortunate thing about finding a world in which an avant-garde opera they might both enjoy was playing, was that such places also tended to have somewhat outre ideas of fashion. It might be Hannibal's birthday, but he wasn't in a mood to make Jono uncomfortable or start any fights. Instead, Hannibal's plaid would be downright staid where they were going, and if Jono wasn't careful, he might start a trend.

Right now, though, Hannibal was trying to decide upon a tie that fit the evening. He'd had one chosen earlier, but had foolishly left it hanging too close to the bed, and it had been summarily pulled down - at the moment it was being used as a cat bed. Even if he could pull it out, the grey hairs on it weren't going anywhere any time soon.

//Perhaps. Of course, they might just see how much I like it...//

Hannibal raised an eyebrow at him. "That might be more than our friends and family would want to know."

Jono waved a hand dismissively.

//All of my friends already have some idea, I'm fairly certain,// he replied. As if that somehow made it all better.

Look, he'd dated Raven, and that whole crew was a pack of gossips.

"There's a difference between having a general idea, and being blatantly confronted with it," Hannibal pointed out.

[furnaceface]

//What, did you think I was threatening to pin you against a wall and have my way with you in the lobby?//

Jono was just utterly amused, now, yes.

//Some inappropriate innuendo at best, honestly now. Give me some credit.//

Hannibal gave him an arch look. "You hardly have to do or say anything to give the right impression. Particularly if there are other telepaths in the audience."

[furnaceface]

//I can't see there being more than... three? Probably three,// Jono decided. //But I'm not going to police my thoughts because people might be peeking. And shame on them if they do and they don't like what they see.//

They had it coming.

"One will be Emma," Hannibal pointed out. He wasn't worried about anyone finding out what they got up to, but did Jono really want to deal with the looks she would give them?

[furnaceface]

//And Emma knows damn well to respect the walls I've got up in my head. Besides, I'm sure she's overheard far more lurid things than whatever'd go through my head after taking a good wallop.//

A beat.

//That said, if she does happen to peek, we might never live it down.//

But there were liable to be far more questionable things to worry about if Emma went poking around than a penchant for S&M.

If Emma tried to make a fuss about S&M, well - Hellfire Club. Honestly.

But yes, probably best she didn't poke around. Her cost for blackmail might be prohibitive.

"And if you're broadcasting it, we definitely won't."

[furnaceface]

//Well, then I won't broadcast,// Jono replied, leaning sideways to nudge Hannibal with his shoulder. //More than usual.//

Hannibal chuckled and rubbed Jono's arm. "Probably a wise idea for the wedding. The honeymoon is negotiable."
