Hannibal's house (and okay, maybe JUST A LITTLE Jono's), New Year's Eve

Hannibal's impulse was to have a huge party and plan an entire menu and drinks menu for it; any excuse. But after spending their vacation in the quiet (if cold) arctic circle, then continuing to relax as much as possible, Hannibal was disinclined to undo all of that work by insisting on a crowd for New Year's Eve.

So, a quiet evening in, with the cats and each other and a glass of very good champagne.

As the clock ticked closer to midnight, Hannibal stretched out on the couch and smiled at Jono. "Well?"

Hannibal laughed. "No. I plan on keeping it all to myself, for the most part. But you may see yourself in my mind palace later."

There would be an entire gallery of "Jono enjoying my food."

That seemed worth taking a moment to double-check. Because... that sounded about right, anyway. Jono made some fairly ridiculous faces, when he was able.

"All of your most appreciative and astonished faces," Hannibal said. Which might be the same thing, yes.

The raised eyebrow that Jono gave Hannibal at that suggested that, maybe, he was well aware of just how stupid he could look when he was astonished.

//I suppose it'd definitely be a good pick-me-up if ever you were in need of a good chuckle,// he allowed. //At least there's that.//

"I like to be reminded of the fruits of my labors," Hannibal answered. He reached over to set his glass down on the table, and got a glare and a silent meow as he shifted. He settled back and put a hand on Beethoven to settle him as well.

Jono gave Hannibal and the cat both a warm look, settling back as well and reaching to give Joni a scratch behind the ear. She was already fast asleep, which meant that Jonothon was probably trapped forever.

It was nice knowing you, world.
