Christmas hadn't dawned yet; dawn wouldn't come until late morning. Meanwhile, Hannibal had manged to finagle some nice, hot coffee from the restaurant and was enjoying it from a thermos as he contemplated the day before them.

Jono was never going to live the saffron down, was he?

"And then we have a wedding to plan," Hannibal noted. "A guest list, script, seating, menu..."

He was probably looking forward to that part.

//I'm leaving the menu up to the person who needs to eat the food,// Jono decided, immediately. //Seating shouldn't be too difficult. Room for... people we know from Fandom, mostly. Maybe a few people from back home, but it isn't like there's really family to invite...//

Just because his parents were alive didn't mean they were family. And Akkaba sure as hell wasn't getting any invitations.

"Seating is much like a dance," Hannibal said. "You have to ensure everybody has the proper partners and positioning." He wasn't worried; he excelled at this sort of thing. "We'll have to have invitations as well, and decorations. Flowers. We'll have to decide upon an entourage - how much of a wedding party we want to have. The blocking and timing."

It was possible now he was just throwing out everything a wedding might have, in hopes of overwhelming Jono.

Well done, Hannibal! Jono was doing an excellent job at looking overwhelmed already!

//We... ah... oh.// Please do excuse him, he was processing. With wide eyes. //We can't just let people seat themselves? What kind of decorations? Who the hell would I even have in my wedding party?//

Was it too late to reconsider this whole 'wedding with actual people attending' thing?

Hannibal chuckled. "We'll figure it all out." He leaned in to kiss Jono's nose. "But it can be somewhat involved."

[furnaceface]

Jono closed his eyes and, after a moment of focus, projected the faint sensation of a kiss in turn. It was never quite the same; he couldn't feel it himself, after all. But it was something.

//I suppose we'll figure it out,// he murmured. //And it'll be worth it, whatever is involved.//

"It will." Hannibal smiled at the feeling of that kiss. He still wasn't entirely certain how he had ended up in this place, but he found he really didn't mind it at all.
