Hannibal's house, Sunday morning

Jono had slept straight through the night - a miracle Hannibal was perfectly ready to take credit for. He wasn't likely to sleep much longer, though, so Hannibal was headed back upstairs with the simple omelette he'd made for breakfast and a good-sized carafe of coffee.

//Oh, good. That's definitely one of my specialties, right there,// Jono countered, equally deadpan as he reached for his wrappings. //I have such strong opinions about baby's breath, after all.//

It was definitely a flower.

"You can teach Western style while I cover ikebana," Hannibal said. "What do you think?"

[furnaceface]

//You know, you've almost sold me on the idea,// Jono decided as he started to wrap his face. //But what are your thoughts about decorative grasses?//

He would need to know, so that he could quote Hannibal verbatim if he was ever asked.

"It depends what you're using them for." Hannibal paused to rinse his hair. "Actually, I was thinking of something involving traveling, art, music...and perhaps flower arranging," he added with a chuckle, "if one of the students is interested, though neither of us would have to teach it."

[furnaceface]

//We wouldn't? Oh, thank god. It'd be a disaster if I had t'do it.//

Well, it would.

//Travel and art, though... Anything like the live entertainment class I once taught, or am I completely missing the mark?//

[sharp_as_knives]

"Similar," Hannibal answered. Mostly in that it would be largely an excuse to go out and have fun weekly. "We could visit museums, parks, shows, a variety of places, in the interest of inspiring the students to create their own art. Painting, music, dance, writing - whatever they're moved to."

He finished rinsing and turned the shower off, opening the door to look out. "What do you think?"

Jono paused in his wrapping job, about half done, and blinked back toward the door.

//... I like it,// he decided. //There are plenty of art appreciation courses, but nothing particularly artistic around here that doesn't involve 'friendship' and entirely too much glitter.//

Hannibal grabbed a towel. "Should we make a 'no glitter' rule? It might stifle their creativity," he teased.

[furnaceface]

//All things in moderation,// Jono countered. //I wouldn't want to stifle anybody's creativity, but I'm in no mood to twinkle for a week, either.//

There had to be a line!

"Minimal glitter, then." Hannibal toweled off as he headed for the bedroom. "You're interested?"

[furnaceface]

//I am,// he agreed. //My class was mostly to get people out of the bloody dorms and exploring the world. I like that this one is meant to be some manner of inspiration, besides.//

[sharp_as_knives]

"We'll have to work out a list of places to go," Hannibal said. "Places suitably inspiring." If Jono were to look into the room, he would see Hannibal in leather pants and nothing else yet; was that inspiring?

[furnaceface]

... Probably actually a fair bit more inspiring than Jono's way of doing things, which more or less had him in his leather wrappings up top, and a pair of boxers down below, thus far.

Nice ones. You're welcome, Hannibal.

//I'm confident that between the two of us, we can manage something of the sort,// he decided. //We've got the whole bloody multiverse to pick from, after all. Did you swap my shirt again?//

Of course he had.

"Not again," Hannibal answered, "only once." Look at how they didn't clash now!

Oh, Hannibal.

//Well... good. We match better now?/

Hannibal was probably the only person in the world who insisted that they dress so as to not clash for the sake of going out for a motorbike ride. Did he know that?

[sharp_as_knives]

Hannibal liked to find little things for Jono to tease him about so he could focus on them rather than the larger conflicts. Did Jono know that?

Probably. But it didn't mean it didn't work. Plus Hannibal really did hate to clash with someone he spent so much time with.

"Much better." He smiled at Jono and reached for his own shirt. "I trust that one is acceptable?"

[furnaceface]

//It must be acceptable,// Jono agreed. //I haven't taken the time to ferret it out of my closet to burn it yet, after all.//

... He was only mostly teasing.

"And here I just give my old clothing to charity," Hannibal said wryly. "Terribly boring."

[furnaceface]

//Mine gets old enough and it ends up scorched anyway,// Jono pointed out, pulling on his trousers and then reaching for his belt. //Actually, most of the clothing I end up being rid of is either threadbare or I've bled into it, generally.//

Whereas Hannibal's usual reason for giving away clothes was "it's last season". Or very occasionally, "might've been seen in it".

"And you wonder why I think you should buy new clothes more frequently." He gave Jono a fond smile.

[furnaceface]

//Because I bleed often?//

Under many fun and varied circumstances, in fact!

"You could also try bleeding less," Hannibal felt obliged to point out.

Not that he could throw many stones the last couple of years.

[furnaceface]

//Well, I'm not at war or playing costumed vigilante these days,// Jono noted, //so I want to say I've actually made some minor progress in that regard, at least.//

Also, he had fewer places to bleed from than he had when he had first met Hannibal! That helped!

"Good to hear." Hannibal picked up his jacket and made sure he had his keys and wallet. "Are you ready?"

Going from large and blue to skinnier and no-chested didn't actually count as progress, Jono.

[furnaceface]

Jono shrugged into his jacket and took a moment to check his own pockets before nodding.

//Ready as I'm ever going to be,// he announced. //Shall we, then?//

It wasn't like he could help the whole 'skinnier and no-chested' thing. Not many people were as big as he'd been when he'd had Apocalypse's blood in his veins. That wasn't really how human bodies worked, generally.
