Hannibal's house, Thursday

Well, radio this morning had certainly been...interesting. Hannibal was torn between going to a deserted beach somewhere warm until this was over, and talking to as many people as possible. Maybe even Anakin.

He decided to start with breakfast, though. With actual pork sausage, just in case.

Raven ducked her head to try to hide her blush. "I am not usually so bold," she said. "But the desire was there. I thought it was the safframate that made me so forward."

Then again, there'd been no safframate in her system when she'd bound Jono to a chair and...well....

"Sometimes bold can be a good thing," Hannibal reassured her with a smile. "But I thought you had purged the safframate from your system." He'd insisted upon it as much as possible.

"Oh, I did!" Raven insisted, looking up again. "The drug was no longer affecting me. But the desire had already been there, as I said, and that did not go away. It is not something I regret, nor would I mind it happening again, perhaps even with Jono with us the next time...."

...she hadn't meant to say that last part. It was slowly starting to dawn on her that it was another day of truth in Fandom.

Well, that was...all right, not entirely unexpected, but still.

"I wouldn't mind that, either." Stupid island. "If Jono is so inclined. And I don't regret it," Hannibal assured her. "But if the drug was out of your system, and you wouldn't normally have been so forward, could there have been something else affecting you? Breaking down your barriers?"

"Such as something making me blurt out the truth, or thoughts I did not intend to speak?" Raven said with a sigh. Oh, Fandom.

"I do not feel any outside influence on my feelings," she went on, shaking her head. "I cannot sense anything wrong with me. But Jono did sense something within me, a shadow I cannot quite see myself."

"Something like that, yes," Hannibal acknowledged wryly. "The island seems to be having an interesting day."

He finished his breakfast and shifted his chair closer to Raven. "Is there a way of finding out for certain? Perhaps of testing you for other influences?"

"Perhaps Karla could check, when she is recovered from childbirth," Raven said. "She is a Black Widow and has been in my mind before. Though I am as reluctant to let her inside me as I was Jono, for I do not want her to see the dark dreams I have."

"Could she find out without entering your mind?" Hannibal asked. He tried to think of a way to explain it. "If I wanted to know if anybody had been in my house, I could walk around and look at everything inside, or I could stay outside and check all the doors and windows. See if there were any sign of tampering, or if anybody had left a trace."

"Perhaps," Raven said, shrugging. "But it would be much easier to allow her entrance. She is trained for this kind of thing, after all. And I cannot let my shame get in the way if there is something truly wrong with me."

She tried to shake off thoughts of the awful visions that sometimes played through her mind. "If I allowed Jono, I can allow her," she said. "I was more afraid of what he would see than what she might."

"Without knowing what happened, I know you had nothing to worry about." Hannibal smiled. "Jono would never have judged you for your fears and dreams."

Raven managed a small smile. "I know," she said. "He has seen the darkest parts of me yet has not fled in fear. But I could not help but be afraid, for what I did to him in my nightmares was so...personal. I enslaved him and made him my puppet, and after all he has been through, that is the last thing he needs to see from me."

[sharp_as_knives]

"That can't have been pleasant for either of you," Hannibal said.

"There is something I mentioned to Jono earlier, if you think you might be willing to try it. I have had good luck with hypnosis to relax patients and better direct them. I've even had a peek inside your dreams that way." He gave her a gentle smile. "Perhaps combining that with Jono's abilities could reveal a bit more about what's going on."

"You mean use hypnosis on me again, but have Jono there with you?" Raven asked. "Have you been talking to him about hypnosis as well?"

[sharp_as_knives]

Hannibal nodded. "Yes, to both questions. Perhaps between the two of us, we could find something definitive one way or the other."

"I am certainly willing to true," Raven said. Pride made her want to believe there was nothing wrong, but she had already been troubled by the nightmares and visions, and she trusted Jono's senses, even if she couldn't feel what was wrong herself.

"I trust both of you," she said. "And you have already seen what is inside me."

"Thank you," Hannibal said. "I hope we can set your mind at ease."

Raven laughed lightly and shook her head. "I was at ease until Jono expressed his concerns," she said, finishing her strata.

"And hopefully will be again." Hannibal smirked. "As much as any of us are in life."
