Hannibal woke up, stretched, and sighed. It had been another one of those weekends, hadn't it.

He got up and got dressed, then fired off a quick series of e-mail and text messages before making breakfast. They all said pretty much the same thing:

I trust you're doing well after this weekend. I have a well-stocked wine cellar and liquor cabinet to go with dinner tonight, if you're interested.

Raven hadn't been feeling social enough to visit the island and had remained in Glacia. Of course she was naturally concerned when she got Hannibal's text.

Did Fandom have another of its strange weekends? Are you all right?

Hannibal read Raven's reply and answered back.

It did. I wasn't sure if you'd been caught up in it. I'm well, though I haven't heard from the others yet.

The whole thing was rather amusing in hindsight. Honestly, his wardrobe!

No, I stayed in Glacia.

But Karla and Warren had gone, and Jono was there, and Azar knew who else. She was going to try not to panic. Try. Hopefully it had been a more amusing than traumatic incident, though she was glad to have avoided it herself this time. She was still reeling from her last transformation.

However I will accept your invitation so as to make certain everyone is well, if I may.

Of course! Hannibal texted back. And I will let you know as soon as I hear from any of them.

Ah, yes. Jono was trying to live in denial of the weekend, but that wasn't going to be easy, was it?

Seeing as I'll likely be in Glacia by then, I don't suppose you'll accept my presence this evening as an adequate substitute for our Friday date?

What? If he wasn't going to be able to pretend it never happened, the next best thing was going to involve teasing about it.

Jono's message made Hannibal laugh.

Considering the information I sold is worthless now, I think we can count ourselves even. I hope you'll make it tonight anyway.

I'm looking forward to it, then. I'll see you there, mate.

And maybe if enough people showed up, Jono could ride on the coattails of everyone else's drunkenness, too. He'd win either way!

A few moments later he would have a reply in his inbox from one of the recipients:

Your invitation is both appreciated and accepted, and I shall return your little black book. Are we to 'dress' for dinner in the spirit of the occasion?

You may keep the book, and you may wear whatever you wish. Some choices may traumatize others; I leave it to you whether this is a deterrent or incentive.
