Hannibal's house (which probably has a Jono in it), Saturday

After having missed a week due to going to get Alluka, Hannibal was ready to once more get back to the harpsichord.

He'd made tea and coffee, along with little cakes, and was having a low-key morning meanwhile.

And trying to come up with ways of occupying Jono that didn't involve much physical movement. Or of sedating him. The man really didn't deal well with recuperation.

Lucille had been unsure whether she should show up today, but that would have been rude to Dr Lecter. So here she was, a young man dressed in rather ill-fitting clothes that Lucille had hand wavily found through unknown means and the coat she usually wore, knocking on the door.

Hannibal came to answer the door, took in the clothes and still somewhat similar scent of the boy there, and smiled. "Lucille. Please, come in. May I take your coat?"

At least she didn't have to explain who she was. "Yes, please," Lucille replied nervously as she entered the house. "It is a strange day."

That was rather obvious.

Hannibal nodded and hung her coat up, leading her back to the music room. "It has happened a few times, and is one of the more innocuous of the island's whimsies, but it is very strange the first time. Tea?"

"It is... very odd," Lucille replied. "I look very much like my brother, but I heard others who also resembled their siblings, so perhaps that is not such a surprise."

She added: "I would love a cup of tea, thank you."

"It makes a certain amount of sense," Hannibal said, "inasmuch as any of this does."

He poured her a cup of tea and set it with the cream and sugar on a side table. "How are your hands?" he asked. "Very different in size?"

Lucille hadn't thought about that, but looking at her hands she frowned. "Yes. That is going to make playing difficult, won't it?"

"It may make the movements feel different," Hannibal agreed. "You won't have to reach as far, and you'll need to be more careful, particularly on these narrower keys."

[crimson_sister]

"A very strange kind of exercise," Lucille replied. "I'm not sure I will thank the island for it."

[sharp_as_knives]

"Still, there's little to be done about it. It generally goes away in a few days," Hannibal said. "And I suppose should you ever decide to teach your brother harpsichord, you'll have a better insight."

That almost made Lucille smile. "That is true. He prefers to let me play though."

[sharp_as_knives]

Hannibal smiled back. "Tell me about him. Does he have other artistic inclinations?"

[crimson_sister]

"He invents things," Lucille replied. "He used to make me things, like little automatic toys, to make me happy."

[furnaceface]

Jono... was not going to work today, no. He probably should have been going to work today. He had a sense of duty telling him that he needed to work, blast it!

Of course, he was still recovering from last weekend's injuries, and Hannibal wasn't about to let him go heft boxes around without a fight. One that he was sure to lose. So he was on the couch, propped up at a strange angle with a pillow he'd liberated from the bedroom, attempting to keep from getting too fidgety by letting Joni wrestle with one hand.

... If by 'letting' one meant 'pestering her until she started biting and bunny-kicking,' anyway. She'd been trying to sleep.

After their lesson, Hannibal picked up his own tea and came to join Jono, stroking his hand over his hair as he came up behind him. "Having a relaxing day?"

[furnaceface]

//Nnngh,// Jono confirmed, because yes, it was relaxing in that same way that watching grass growing and paint drying was relaxing, and since he couldn't let the entire universe know, he would settle for grumbling at Hannibal instead. //There's one word for it, yes.//

He craned his head back as well as he was able to look at Hannibal from where he was laying.

//I think Joni would disagree.//

Given the way her ears were slicked back and her little tail was going, yes. She just wanted some sleep! Sleep!

Hannibal reached down to scoop Joni up and rub between her ears. "Of course she would. She's a dangerous predator; no relaxing."

He looked down at Jono. "However she isn't dealing with multiple broken ribs." He leaned on the edge of the couch. "We could watch a movie if you like. Or introduce each other to more new music."

[furnaceface]

Joni was purring up to Hannibal now, thankful that he'd offered her some manner of rescue from her person-but-crazy.

//I'd be fine with either,// Jono offered, perking a little. //Less of a hike to just stay here and watch a film, mind.//

If they were going to be listening to music, it was going to be properly, through the good speakers, not over the crappy little internal ones on his tablet. That would involve getting up to go poking through records.

"A movie it is." Hannibal smiled. "I would say 'convalescent's choice', but I'm frankly worried what you might come up with."

He wasn't really the Disney type.

[furnaceface]

In fairness, Jono really only watched the Disney if there were children about. Or Didi. Or he was feeling particularly nostalgic.

//So... you're saying you don't want to mock how horribly inaccurate any horror film I could possibly pick is, with me?//

Hannibal thought about that for a moment. "Convalescent's choice," he agreed.

[furnaceface]

Jono gave Hannibal a little almost-smirk over that one.

//Right, then. Did we want to go with a slasher film? Sci-fi horror? Supernatural? Psychological? Torture porn?// A pause. //Might or might not involve actual porn. I don't watch that sort often, unless I'm in a very particular sort of mood.//

"What are you in the mood for?" Hannibal said. "I don't really watch any of them."

[furnaceface]

Jono tilted his head slightly, contemplating that.

//I want to say the more unlikely, the better,// he noted, //but between my world and here, that list has gotten much, much smaller over the years. Perhaps some science-fiction, then?//

"Because the science is more unlikely than the fiction?" Hannibal asked, grinning.
