After breaking the news to Jono, the first stop Hannibal had planned for them was the tailor. Good lord, Jono; even casual clothes felt better when they fit!

If it were up to him, you would be much happier by the end of the weekend. But probably not just yet.

There were a lot of plans.

There were very good tailors here, and Hannibal had an appointment. He shook the man's hand, smiling, then gestured at Jono. Be prepared to be measured within an inch of your life, Jono!

The man nodded pleasantly, his professionalism keeping him from wincing at the state of Jono's clothing. "If you'll step over here, we can get started. Once we have your measurements and preferences, we'll get started on the suits. Then just send us the rest, and we'll make the alterations."

There were very comfortable couches for anyone that wanted to watch. No popcorn, though; sorry.

Maybe there was a convenient back door he could slip through when nobody was looking.

Raven was making herself comfortable on the couch, sipping a glass of champagne the staff had brought over.

"You should have a proper fitting suit for formal occasions on the island," she encouraged Jono. "Just in case. You need not wear one everyday."

Because trying to imagine that was making her brain hurt, just a little.

Emma was, admittedly, mostly there to run psychic interference to keep their intervention running smoothly.

Well, and chat with one of the tailors that she had worked with before, discussing the state of the couture season and Fashion Week.

Karla ifly flipped through menswear magazines, looking for styles and cuts that she thought would suit Warren. Granted, Lord Aldric would consider any suggestion an affront to his sartorial expertise, but there were a few bolts of cloth here that she thought could soothe his temper if she offered them as a gift.

Next, it was off to Barney's. "Tailors don't have everything." Hannibal gave Jono's crotch a significant look. Or was it his boots? Probably both.

He'd blush if he could. Instead he'd just have to settle for looking even more awkward, instead.

"Care to model these?" she teased.

"Oh my god, people, stop thinking about Jono's undergarments. There is nothing I want to hear about less," Emma was shooting members of the party a disgruntled glare, yes. "I'll give him Ratman boxers for Christmas if we can pick a new topic please."

It did not matter if Jono liked Ratman or not. That's what he was getting.

"Well, I officially know more about Jono's underwear than I ever intended to," Karla informed the world at large. She was doing her damnedest not to grin while she said it, though. Jono flustered was adorable. "Though I think Raven's on the right track with the snake theme."

She reached towards a rack and pulled off a lovely-looking robe. "You know, Jono, if you wore this around your suite, they might not complain about the state of your underwear so much."

Comfortable, warm, and covering. For once, Karla was actually being helpful when she said she was!

Lunch!

It had taken Hannibal far longer than he cared to find a restaurant that met his standards for decent, didn't require traveling across the entire city, and wouldn't send Jono screaming (or sulking). For lunch, that meant they'd ended up at Cafe Boulud.

Would it be terribly unacceptable for Jono to slump into his seat and then lean forward and rest his forehead on the tabletop with a psionic pulse of something that was at least somewhat reminiscent of a groan?

Jonothon didn't handle interventions well. He handled restaurants less well when he was in the middle of an intervention. But at least he wasn't outright complaining anymore.

Excuse Raven, but she was going to enjoy the Fall Squash Ravioli and go into a state of near bliss, oh yes. And the Marrakesh Delight was calling her name for dessert.

Emma glanced at the menu, then shoved it towards Jono. "Your pick, but I'm not drinking beer," she informed him cheerfully. "Unless, of course, you don't want to ride shotgun..."

Let's see...Karla was going to order the duck, because she never passed up the opportunity to show waterfowl who was boss. And the French onion soup and roasted beet salad would make excellent starters. She gave some thought to ordering the slow-baked branzino, but fortunately she saw that it involved turnips, so that got a pass and she ordered the harira soup instead.

The waiter looked a little taken aback after she finished rattling off her order, but was far too well-trained to presume to comment on it.

"Leave the dessert menu," she said, giving him a winning smile. "I'll peruse it while I enjoy my luncheon."

Of course she'd have room for dessert!

Haircuts

Emma's remark about a weed-whacker had been entirely too accurate, Jono. You had, Hannibal suspected, rather good hair. Hopefully one of the barbers could find it.

Come to think of it, he could probably use a trim himself. And if any of the women wanted one, they had the opportunity as well.

He liked it! It did all of those things that hair was meant to do! It grew out of his head, it kept his scalp warm, it held more styling product than was strictly advisable, it did that kind of intimidating flippy thing when his flames were out in the open and they tousled it about...

Everyone should just be thankful he had outgrown that unfortunate pseudo-mullet phase he'd had back in the 90s.

After wrangling a promise to have someone get a business card for the salon to pass along to Warren, Karla decided to skip on the trip itself. She was sleepy after the lunch they had and hoped to check into their hotel early and catch a catnap.

Hotel & spa

This was supposed to be relaxing; unfortunately, there had been rather a lot to do to get there. But once they could check into their Presidential Suite, hopefully there would be more time for simply relaxing.

And possibly manicures and pedicures at the hotel's spa. (Yes, Jono, polish is optional.)

Meanwhile, the clothes that had only needed alteration should be coming back from the tailor...

Jono's complaining and threatening to take off earlier had mostly only been for show. After all, it was pretty much expected of him, and it wasn't as though anybody could force him to wear his new clothing, and hair grew. All of the damage so far was fleeting, or at least temporary.

Once they set food in the spa, though, he looked legitimately ready to bolt.

He was not okay with this. You could tell by the way he wasn't saying anything at all. Wasn't even really protesting. If anything, he was trying to make himself look as small as possible. Maybe nobody would notice he was there.

Raven was definitely going to get a mani-pedi. She'd been quite lax at treating herself as well, and there was no reason to pass up the opportunity. Other people were, so why not her?

The nap had been refreshing and Karla woke up in time to join the others for manicures. She ordered a pedicure for herself; she knew Emma was keeping people uninterested in them as a group, but she didn't want an unsuspecting stylist working around her snake-tooth.

Dinner & a show!

After some deliberation, Hannibal had made reservations at Babbo. Followed by a Broadway show (that was totally still playing in Emma's world) that you really owed him for, Jono!

Jono was going to peel off toward a bed the moment they were back at the hotel. And he was going to flop down on it dramatically. And he was going to at least contemplate murder.
