Gourmet suite at the Arms Hotel, Sunday

This was the most crowded Hannibal could recall being in quite some time. There were several children in the master bedroom, one of whom was apparently his, her other father in another bed in his room (yes, thank you, Angela, but they were not a couple here, and you could stop looking at them like that), and Jono's friends on the pull-out couch in the living room.

On the bright side, it was a built-in audience for breakfast. So Hannibal was brewing some excellent coffee while he worked as quietly as possible at cinnamon polenta pancakes, sweet potato & pork belly hash, rosemary grapefruit, thick-cut bacon, and toast from some very good, dense bread he had.

And mimosas for the adults. He had a feeling they still might need a drink.

"Definitely!" Angela smiled back. "I've never had a brother. And we can compare academies and swap Logan stories," she added gleefully.

JJ beamed a smile at her. He had a sister finally!

"Oh man. Like there can ever be enough of those? I mean, he's awesome and all, but yeah. Te best stories are about him. Or some of the stuff Aunt Jubes and Da used to do."

"Oh, god," Angela said, leaning close and looking mischievous. "I've seen some of the pictures. Those uniforms!"

"I know, right? I have no idea how they ever wore those. I complained about mine and Da' broke out the yearbook... I nearly died from second-hand embarassment."

"Ours aren't too bad," Angela conceded. "Though we had to convince Father not to add plaid," she whispered.

"I heard that," Hannibal cut in from her other side, giving them both a look. "There's nothing wrong with a tasteful plaid."

Angela gave him a look right back and shared her eye-roll with JJ. "Even Banshee doesn't fight crime in plaid."

"Our actual school uniforms used to have some plaid, but they got rid of it when the town's school went to all plaid uniforms. Now we have just blue jackets and slacks or skirts and stuff. And ties, ugh."

He waved his fork. "The junior team uniforms finally got changed to just a simple black armor with colour accents to identify our levels. Makes it easier for the teachers to spot someone working above their grade since they may not know who we are, you know?"

At least, if you weren't BFFs with someone who could make the uniforms look different to different people. Cough.

"I like ties!" Angela protested. She was in several ways her father's daughter. "Boys in ties are hot," she said with a grin.
