Office Hours, Friday

Hannibal's official office hours were later in the evening, but he showed up a bit early so he could hopefully get information on places in the city to hold the end-of-class dinner party. And he might as well do it from his office, in case any students needed him.

There were an assortment of herbs in tasteful window boxes added to the decor now; he wanted to see how they'd do in this environment. Hopefully they would wouldn't become too odd.

"Does this place really never, like, call a break?" That was some hardcore filming there, man.

Hannibal looked up from his computer at the girl in the doorway. "Excuse me?"

"You're all so into staying IC," Nonny said, poking at the props in his room. "Oh, so what's your story? If I get the scoop on Tumblr, I'll be their god. Because you're all mysterious and cheekboney."

A beat.

"And always photoshopped with a flower crown for some reason."

Mysterious and cheekboney? He frowned slightly. "Are you a writer for the student paper?" She seemed to be nosy enough for a journalist.

"And please be careful of those plants. They're still early plantings." Nothing else in here was terribly fragile; he was aware it was a school.

Nonny gave them a suspicious look. "Are they, like, part of your mysterious past?"

"I have no mysterious past." She must be a reporter of some stripe. Or aspiring to be. "But I would prefer not to have to take new cuttings."

"Can I help you with something, Miss...?"

"Just Nonny," she replied, rolling her eyes at the formality. "And that's so lame. I'm telling people to stop hoping for some sweeps romance to make you cool."

He raised an eyebrow at her. "What is 'lame'? My plants or the fact I respect people I don't know?"

"And I hate to disappoint you, Nonny, but I have no intentions of finding romance at this time." Still, if the students were gossiping about his need for romance, at least they weren't gossiping about other things about him.

"And you're way too calm. That's boring. You should talk to the writers about that. Pretty sure that's Ender's thing."

Ender and Hannibal in one room would be interesting, though. Oh look, she had a new OTP!

"I apologize for boring you," he drawled, not apologetic at all. "Which writers are you referring to?"

He wondered how rude it would be to fake an appointment and leave.

Well, he was dealing with a fangirl, so... it was probably more good judgement than rudeness.

"Ugh, you guys are weird about staying in character."

"Staying in which character?" He had a feeling she didn't mean his actual act, and was beginning to wonder if she were actually disturbed.

In which case, this conversation just got much more interesting. "What would you expect to see from me?"

"Something cool. Like, maybe a werewolf. Those are pretty popular right now."

"Are they? Well, unfortunately," very, very fortunately, "I have no means of changing my species. Tell me, what makes them so 'cool'?"

"Well, their abs for one." Damn right!

He...hadn't expected that. "So, humans don't have good enough abs?" He happened to think his were fairly good. He had to stay in shape to indulge his hobbies.

"No." She squinted at him. "Maybe you should be a werewolf with great abs."

She was bound to use that ring for evil eventually, guys.

Well, of course he was. It was one reason he was such a good hunter.

Hannibal leaned back to let his shirt stretch a bit over his perfect abs. And grinned.
