Office Hours, Friday

Hannibal sat and scowled at the lovely and macabre artwork on his walls. He had half a mind to leave, but he had posted his hours, and no...whatever the hell this was...was going to stop him.

Odd was one thing. Students that seemed to actually not be human was something he could accept; he liked to think he had a very open mind. But if there was one thing he prided himself on (well, there were a number of them, but still), it was having control of himself. The fact he seemed unable to keep from singing his thanks to the shuttle driver was unacceptable!

So far, he'd managed to avoid any further embarrassment by copious amounts of coffee and judicious application of the arias from Bach's Coffee Cantata. Unfortunately, he was not a soprano; he wasn't even a tenor! And the necessary key change was doing the song no favors, damn it.

Any students with questions or professors with greetings had better hope they weren't too annoying; Hannibal was not in a good mood.

[OOC: Please drop by! He'll only bite metaphorically. Also, he still has no TA, if anyone's so inclined!]

"'Charm'? Hm. Earth strange. Will accept it, then." Mordin inhaled. He forgot the asari words for the song in his head and switched to a lullaby from Sur'Kesh.

"Still in stage of cultural observation where absorbing by just talking. No specific inquiries. Promise not using you as test subject. Hoping to just chat. Expect first class went excellently."

Mordin launched into one of his characteristically meandering speeches, occasionally breaking concentration and singing it along to the lullaby in his head before gathering himself.

"Cross-species interaction important. Reduces fear, misunderstanding, prejudice. Avoids war. Asari, turian, salarian, volus, elcor--all relatively peaceful. Shared interests in galactic peace. Hoping to learn about humans. Not repeat Rachni Wars. Bloody introduction to a species. Immersing self into human culture best way to promote amity. Selfishly, fascinated by prospect of learning new culture. Xenoscience is passion."

Mordin stopped his rambling to take a deep breath. "Formally learning meditation, etiquette, and philosophy. Self, interpersonality, and ideology through human eyes. Informally learning that everyone has a more impressive singing voice than myself."
