[sharp_as_knives]

Hannibal was set up once again in his office, with good-quality coffee and tea set out and, as a change, some of the quieter selections of Jethro Tull playing in the background.

He had a list of places for future classes in one window, and a menu planner open in the other, and was multitasking as he waited to see if anybody would drop by.

"Teela," and she waved off the last name even as she shook the doctor's hand. "I've been told you had the misfortune of teaching my ward, a Kaylin Neya."

Understatement. Kaylin was always a handful but that's half the reason Teela indulged her. She had a knack for making life interesting, even at such a young age.

Hannibal chuckled as he shook her hand, then waved her to a seat. "I wouldn't have put it that way, although I have found her a challenge. May I get you coffee or tea?"

"Coffee, please." Although even Teela could admit she'd much rather have it spiked with something stronger. But considering this was a social call, she could endure. "And how would you put it?"

Hannibal thought about it as he got her coffee. "I would say that I had the opportunity to attempt to teach her the value of things outside of her usual interests. I'm not at all certain I succeeded, although I maintain hope. I also had the opportunity to pressure her into taking better care of herself, which gained significantly more ground."

He set a cup of coffee and the cream and sugar on the little table near Teela. "I gather she isn't used to such things."
