Hannibal's house (where Jono at least isn't hungover), late Sunday morning

Since Kanan had been in no shape last night to tell Hannibal where he lived, he'd ended up in one of Hannibal's guest rooms. His shoes and jacket were under a plush chair next to the bed, the chair itself weighing them down so they wouldn't escape.

Hannibal woke up as early as was his custom, but when getting ready involved bodily threatening every article of clothing, it took a bit longer than usual. He ended up sans jacket and socks, but with a shirt, waistcoat, and trousers that worked well together, at least. (His shoes were currently pinned in the corner of the closet after being threatened with a scalpel.)

Now he was drinking coffee to the sounds of Tosca and thumbing through his recipes for something that sounded good. He had company, after all.

But nexu were adorable!

"What are tooka and nexu?" Hannibal asked.

For creatures with four eyes and a mouthful of teeth, they were rather cute.

"Cats," Kanan replied, and if there was a bit of a mischievous grin on his face... well... Hannibal wasn't the only little shit in the room. "Tookas are about the same size as these guys, but their fur is a purplish-gray. People keep them as pets, but there are feral populations, and subspecies, like the Loth-cat. Nexu are... bigger. Two meters long not including the tail, with a mouth full of teeth as long as your hand and four eyes each. A tooka will get underfoot. A nexu will cleave you in two and then eat your head in one bite."

Nice kitty.

"Not pets, then." Hannibal grinned. "We've larger felines as well. Tigers and lions would be more similar to your nexu. Fortunately they don't live in urban areas. Not even ones as small as this."

Unless the island was playing tricks.

If the island ever gave Kanan an invasion of tiny tigers...

Well, tiny tigers would be just fine by him.

"We... also have different species of tiger," he said, helpfully. "Big galaxy."

"The differences and similarities are intriguing," Hannibal said. "Still, if you've many planets, I suppose it's not too startling. How many planets are inhabited that you know of?"

"Uh." Kanan squinted a little bit. "That sounds a bit like a trick question."

A lot.

"The galaxy is over a hundred thousand light years across," he offered. "And there are inhabited planets out in Wild Space and the unknown regions that nobody's documented yet. Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? It would be easier for me to count inhabited star systems, and my head hasn't stopped hurting enough for me to manage that yet, either."
